Meadow Pipit
Bird Sightings
Anthus pratensis
On Arran Meadow Pipit is a widespread breeding resident,
It is also a regular passage migrant and winter visitor.
From the distribution maps, Meadow Pipit move off the higher ground in the winter.
This is amplified in the relative abunbance maps which are based on the timed tetrad visit sightings only. Using the four point scale, most of the largest dots for Meadow Pipit, which represent 25% of the squares with the highest counts, are on the higher ground in the breeding season and on the coast in winter.
In the table below the "Arran Trends" based on information from previous as well as the present atlas indicates that there has been no change in the distribution of Meadow Pipit on Arran.
